Lady Bugs 2 - Thunder Dames 0

The "Lady Bugs" U-10 Girls Soccer Team remains Undefeated in the 2001 soccer season. They played a great game against The Thunder Dames. This game was played on October 06, 2001,  on a mild Saturday afternoon, Octo Inn Soccer Complex at 3:45 pm. We missed Kellie in this game.

The "Lady Bugs" players started the game with nice crosses over the field. Sarah D crossed the ball to Sarah P at the first minute, who took a shot at goal setting up the dynamic of this game. The first half was a constant Lady Bugs attack. At the sixth minute, Taylour kicke the ball which went over the horizontal bar. A minute later, Erin took a corner kick, the ball went to Sarah D who fired a strong shot that passed near the right post. Beth, Briana, Linette, Corina, Lindsay continued firing shots at goal. Vanessa tackled the ball twice in the first half, Linette created good passes, our goalie Wendy saved a nice shot at the 15th minute. Even Briana ventured to shot at goal at the 19th minute.

A goal kick from the Thunder Dames goalie was sent to the right field, Lindsay fought the ball and passed it to Corina, who then crossed it to Beth on the left side. Beth continued with the ball and kicked the ball to the right side of the goalie, scoring the first goal for The Lady Bugs at the 20th minute. Erin fired 2 shots that were contained by the goalie.

For the second half, the "Lady Bugs" switched goalies, Vanessa played goalie saving several shots from the Thunder Dames players. However, Casey, Linette, Rebecca and Briana played a strong defense not allowing any goals in this game. Sarah P and Corina continued to also defend at midfield. Wendy put pressure on the Thunder Dames players, Lindsay run fast to get any loose balls.

The "Lady Bugs" players continued to play aggressively trying to increase the score. Several shots were fired but the Thunder Dames goalies played an awesome game, containing the Lady Bugs shots. However, at the 19th minute of the second half, Briana trapped the ball, passed to Erin who crossed it to Taylour. Taylour took a shot to the left side of the goal beating the goalie for the second time. The ball passed through 2 defenders who blocked the goalie's view of this shot. Corina is one of our younger and smaller players, she did an impressive tackle against 2 tall Thunder Dames players. Our players once again played an awesome game, showing respect to the officials, following the laws and honoring the game.
