PREDATORS 4 - EUREKA BLAZE 0

Predators Pound Eureka Blaze at Octo

By Matt Rosemond

Predators first goal !!!

The Predators stayed unbeaten in league games with a 4-0 win over the visiting Eureka Blaze on a breezy fall afternoon at Octo Field. "Hurry up and wait" was the theme as the start of the game was delayed for almost an hour. The Predator players kept focused by climbing the tree that overlooks the field and swinging from the newly installed rope swing. There was even talk among the parents about taking a drive over to the Shipman's house for a dip in the newly installed pool and hot tub in order to pass the time.

Another Predators' goal !!!

The Predators came out fast and furious in the first half, firing 4 shots in the first 5 minutes. After Amy, Ally and Andrea just missed, Ericka fired a high shot from just outside the penalty area that sailed over the goalie's head and into the goal, making the score 1-0. After the first goal, the game settled down a little bit as both teams were feeling each other out. The defenders Kelsey, Kristina, Kylie, Melissa, and Yolanda were playing tough with 8 intercepts and 4 steals in the first half. The Blaze only managed 2 shots in the first half, both easily handled by Katrina in goal. The midfield was controlled by Sabrina, Angel, Sara, and Ericka. As the whistle blew to end the first half, the Predators found themselves up 1-0.

Predators kept scoring goals !!!

The Predators came out aggressive to start the second half. Kelsey broke threw the Blaze defenders and took on the goalie one on one before firing the Predators second goal five minutes into the half. A few minutes later, Kelsey kicked in her second goal of the match after receiving a great pass from Angel, making the score 3-0. Angel played a well rounded game at midfield with a shot, an assist, 2 steals and 2 intercepts. As in the first half, the Predator defenders, which now included Amy at Sweeper, were dominating the Blaze attack. In fact the Predators only allowed 4 shots in the whole game, and Erica barely even touched the ball in goal in the second half. With about five minutes left in the match, Angel took a shot that was knocked around the box by the Blaze goalie and defenders, where Ally took advantage of a nice follow, sticking it in the back of the net for a 4-0 lead.

Predators dominated the whole game !!!

What a GREAT first half of the season for the Predators. Five wins, no losses- outscoring their opponents by a total of 20 to 1. That cannot happen without great TEAMWORK. Every player has been a part of this great start!

Predators in control of the game !!!

The Predators are moving up to the "C" division for the second half of the season !!!
