Predators Battle Eureka Gold At Olympus Park |

The Predators traveled to Roseville to take on the first place Eureka Gold on Saturday November 17, 2001. With only one day of practice and playing without the services of Amy or Kristina, the Predators proved they belong in Division "C" with a hard fought defensive stalemate that ended in a 0-0 tie.

The Gold featured a strong, organized offensive attack with a lot of movement up front with the forwards constantly in motion, keeping the Predator defenders on their toes. But the defenders- Kelsey, Yolanda, Kylie and Ally were up to the challenge, each player putting in a full 60 minutes of effort that frustrated the Gold throughout the match. Erica went the distance in goal, with seven saves including the game saving full stretch horizontal dive late in the second half that looked like something off a highlight film. Goalie coach John Perez ("GC") has done a great job with both goalies this year, as they have really been the key to the Predators success all season long!
This was probably the strongest game of the year for the midfielders- Angel, Ericka, and Sabi. It seems that all that indoor practice has really paid off as far as passing is concerned. The Predators basically "riddled" the Gold in the midfield with great ball control and communication. The Predator midfielders also won almost every 50/50 ball in the second half, showing great hustle. Angel showed off her dribbling skills with several nice runs that set the table for the forwards. Up front was a group effort consisting of Andrea, Katrina, Sara, and Melissa. For Melissa it was some of her first action up front all year and she played great, using some of her polished defensive skills to take the ball away from the Gold defenders, starting several runs for the Predators. Katrina also played a great game at center forward with some nice moves and passing. Andrea and Sara kept the pressure on with some nice passing in the second half to keep the Gold on their heels.
This was a SOCCER GAME! Well played by both sides. On the sidelines most of the parents could not keep their seats because of the great play and excitement! These young ladies played like you see it on TV... a great way to end the regular league season. What a tremendous job Juan and Ricardo have done with our girls!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU...we will all remember this season for years to come!
