PREDATORS 6 - ROCKLIN REIGN 0

It was another TEAM EFFORT at Octo Inn on Saturday morning, September 22, 2001, as the Predators throttled the Rocklin Reign 6-0. Five different Predator players scored goals in this game as coach Juan continued to mix up the line up. We missed Sarah and Melissa in this game. It's great to see our young ladies getting the chance to learn more than one position! 

After an early game sideline controversy that ended up with the Rubeor's dog Tootsie being "Red Carded" (no dogs allowed at Octo), Kelsey scored the first goal after receiving a quick pass from Amy in the center. Next, it was Andrea putting one in the back of the net after following up a shot by Amy that was mishandled by the Goalie. Two minutes later, Angel beat the defenders on a breakaway and put one in the corner making the score 3-0. The Predators out-shot the Reign in the first half 12-1 as the defenders Kristina, Ally, Yolanda and Kylie were not letting anything get past midfield. 

The second half started a little slow for the Predators. The Reign took two quick shots that were stopped by Erica. But as the second half progressed, the Predator midfielders Ericka, Sabrina, Katrina and Angel were controlling the game. Amy scored the fourth Predator goal ten minutes into the second half on a nice follow up from a shot from Kristina. A few minutes later it was Kristina showing off her speed, scoring the first of her two goals in the match.

The Reign did not even have a chance to catch their breath as Kristina scored again after some nice moves and ball handling. 

The game ended 6-0, as the Predators managed their third straight shut out victory in league play, which is a tribute the the great play of the defenders and goalies so far this season.
